A Night for Forgetting

It’s raining
on the eaves,
and I’m watching
a charming
Anime.

And should I care
to peek next door,
a little son
with hands about
a teddy
snores.

I’ve always wanted
a cat. And he
purrs whenever
I squeal
and hug him,
because he’s soft,
and Anime is
fun.

My bed–so soft!
This memory foam
was so worth it.
And this blanket
I’ve had
since I was fifteen,
and it’s soft
too.

I like it all.

I think
I’ll stay
for a little while,
and forget
that the world
is ending.

That moons are bleeding,
that people are screaming
because the toxic air
they’re breathing out
blackens
all the light.

But it’s raining
on the eaves.
My baby sleeps,
my cat purrs,
and this Anime
is really good.

But it’s raining
on the eaves.
My baby sleeps,
my cat purrs,
and this Anime
is really good.
